Artist Statement
My work transforms discarded materials into blooming landscapes that celebrate renewal, resilience, and joy. Using found objects—primarily metal bottle caps, aluminum fragments, wire, moss, and fallen twigs—I construct dimensional floral scenes that blur the line between painting and sculpture. I want the work to cast shadows, to shift with light, and to reward close inspection.
Each piece begins with a painted canvas background, often layered in gradients and splattered textures that suggest atmosphere—morning light, twilight hush, or the shimmer of spring air. Bottle caps are cut, crimped, folded, and layered into blossoms of unexpected color palettes bursting with personality. Logos are sometimes left as they are, allowing their previous life to become part of a whimsical story. This transformation speaks to the possibility of regeneration: beauty emerging from what is overlooked or discarded.

Ultimately, my art is about hope and transformation. It reflects a belief that broken or discarded things—and by extension, moments in our own lives—can be reshaped into something vibrant and meaningful. Through color, texture, and reclaimed materials, the artwork reflects a belief that broken or discarded things—and by extension, moments in our own lives—can be reshaped into something vibrant and meaningful.
